This document describes how telehealth care is delivered through AgeDefy and the consent you provide when you use the platform. Please read it carefully before starting a consultation or treatment.
Telehealth is the delivery of healthcare using electronic communication and information technology between a provider and a patient who are not in the same physical location. It may be used for evaluation, treatment, follow-up care and patient education through interactive audio, video and data communication.
AgeDefy connects you with licensed clinicians who are licensed in the state where you are located. Consultations may take place through:
Communications are encrypted and carried over HIPAA-compliant infrastructure operated by our clinical partner, Heally. AgeDefy itself is not a medical practice, a pharmacy or a prescriber; clinical decisions are made by your treating provider.
By using the service you acknowledge that telehealth carries limitations and risks, including:
To receive safe and effective care you agree to:
If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including chest pain, difficulty breathing, a severe allergic reaction, or thoughts of harming yourself or others — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use this platform for emergencies. For mental-health crisis support, call or text 988.
Your health information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable state law. AgeDefy and its clinical partner use HIPAA-compliant technology and protocols to protect it. Our Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used and protected.
Consultations are not recorded without your express written consent.
No specific result is promised. Your provider decides whether treatment is medically appropriate, and a visit may conclude with no prescription. You may choose in-person care with a local clinician instead of, or in addition to, telehealth.
Telehealth regulation varies by state. Your provider is licensed in the state where you are physically located at the time of the consultation. By using the service you confirm that you are physically present in a state where your assigned provider is licensed. Provider and treatment availability vary by state and may change.
You may withdraw your consent to telehealth at any time, without penalty, by contacting hello@agedefy.io. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of care already provided, and you may continue with in-person providers of your choosing.
By creating an account, submitting an intake form or taking part in a consultation through AgeDefy, you acknowledge that:
